John Hildreth is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist based in southwest Virginia. His live performances feature visually dynamic acoustic guitar techniques as well storytelling and genre-bending arrangements. He utilizes a percussive, finger-style approach to the guitar, and his repertoire features original instrumental and vocal tunes, as well as a cross-work of covers spanning rock, Americana, world, jazz, and classical. His inspired style evokes the late, great Michael Hedges, as well as contemporary artists such as Kaki King, Don Ross, Andrew York and Andy McKee.

In the band setting, John plays both electric and acoustic guitar as well as mandolin, banjo, synthesizer, piano, and melodica. He can be seen performing with The Breakfast Club, Dot Dot Dash, Two-Penny OperaThe Completely Smashed Irish Band, Taco Cat and Music In Three Dimensions in and around Virginia’s New River Valley.
