John Hildreth is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist based in Blacksburg, Virginia. His solo performances feature percussive, finger-style acoustic guitar in original instrumental and vocal tunes, as well as a cross-work of covers spanning rock, Americana, world, jazz, and classical. His inspired style brings to mind the late, great Michael Hedges, as well as contemporary artists such as Kaki King, Don Ross, Andrew York and Andy McKee.
In the band setting, John plays both electric and acoustic guitar as well as mandolin, banjo, synthesizer, piano, and melodica. He can be seen performing with The Breakfast Club, Dot Dot Dash, Two-Penny Opera, The Completely Smashed Irish Band and Music In Three Dimensions in and around Virginia’s New River Valley in cafes and clubs, house concerts, festivals, coffee houses, local media and community events.
